About
Dr. Shira Bernstein was born and raised in Long Island. She has had a love for orthodontics ever since she was a young girl, going through her own orthodontic treatment. She has a passion for both art and science, and found her niche in dentistry where she can combine her artistic sense and scientific knowledge into creating beautiful smiles.
She graduated Queens College with a Bachelors in psychology. She then went on to attend NYU College of Dentistry, where she graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the OKU Honor Society.

She graduated Queens College with a Bachelors in psychology. She then went on to attend NYU College of Dentistry, where she graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the OKU Honor Society. She was proud to continue her academic journey at NYU, where she attended her Orthodontic residency and earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. During her time at NYU, she conducted extensive research on white- spot-lesions, which can occur as result of poor hygiene during orthodontic treatment. She explored different modalities to help prevent them, and her work was then published in two Orthodontic Journals.
